The exhibition Maleri shows a selection of Troels Wörsel’s (1950 – 2018) significant and groundbreaking paintings from the 1980s – few of which have been exhibited in Denmark until now. The exhibition highlights his crucial role in a time where the relevance of painting had to be legitimized and reinvented.

The exhibition is accompanied by a talk programme and a small publication will be available featuring new texts by Jacob Wamberg and Henrik B. Andersen, as well as a re-print of Troels Wörsel’s text “Notes on Painting” from 1986.

Thursday 16 May, 5 PM
Opening with talks by Henrik B. Andersen, visual artist and Professor at Vilnius Academy of Art, and Jacob Wamberg, Professor of Art History at Aarhus University.

Friday 24 May, 5 PM
Conversation between Mikkel Bogh, Director of The National Gallery of Art, and Ferdinand Ahm Krag, visual artist and Professor at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. The conversation is moderated by Lisbeth Bonde, Art Critic and Journalist

All talks will be in Danish
