Ragna Braase, National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy, India, 16 Nov 2022- 16 Feb 2023

Galleri Susanne Ottesen is delighted to share that four extraordinary weavings by Ragna Braase have been included in Tradition is Contemporary - Danish Textile Craft in Art and Design at the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy in New Delhi, India. Works by 13 Danish textile artists and designers are on display, spanning from the 1930s to the present day, exploring the connection between local Danish textile traditions and Indian crafts and techniques. The exhibition aims to showcase how objects and ideas migrate, travelling across different cultures and times. The exhibition has been curated by Mentze Ottenstein in collaboration with the Danish Agency of Culture & Palaces, Copenhagen, and The Danish Embassy, New Delhi. Ragna Braase works acquired by Sorø Kunstmuseum

Galleri Susanne Ottesen is delighted to share that works by gallery artist Ragna Braase (1929-2013) have recently been acquired by Sorø Kunstmuseum, Sorø, Denmark. Captured here is Braase's work titled Natsværmere (1978), which is among the different weavings and textile works by the artist which are now part of the museum's permanent collection. May we recommend you to visit Horsens Art Museum's most recent exhibition titled ‘New Acquisitions,’ showcasing how the institution's permanent collection has enriched over recent years. Works by gallery artists Martin Erik Andersen (b. 1964) and Ragna Braase (1929-2013) are part of the exhibition, which is on view through 26 June 2022. Ragna Braase works acquired by Centre Pompidou

We are delighted to announce that one of the globe's most acclaimed institutions, Centre Pompidou, Paris, has acquired the late Danish artist's early tapestry ‘Bogstavtæppet’ (1959) and a selection of 21 works on paper produced throughout the 1970s. Braase’s legacy has come to light with help of The National Gallery of Denmark’s (SMK) 2020 exhibition ‘Textile, graphics, sandal,’ which comprised a range of recently acquired print and textile works.
