Biography & CV
Kehnet Nielsen (b. 1947, Copenhagen, Denmark) lives and works in Lyngby, Denmark. Nielsen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (1977-1982).
Major solo exhibitions include Sophienholm, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark (2018), Konsthallen Hishult, Hishult, Sweden (2016), Sønderjyllands Kunsmuseum, Tønder, Denmark (2011), Kunstmuseum Brandts, Odense, Denmark (2003) and Lunds Kunsthal, Lund, Sweden (2001). Among awards he received the Sven Hols Grant in 2010 and the Eckersberg Medal in 1996. Nielsen has produced various site specific works in Denmark, including Christiansborg (1997) and the Copenhagen Court House (1991).
The artist is represented in the public collections of ARoS, Esbjerg Kunstmuseum, Kastrupgårdsamlingen, KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art Aalborg, Museum Sønderjylland and the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK) in Denmark as well as Malmö Konstmuseum in Sweden.
